Wilkommen[modifica]

Hi Joergens.mi, nice to meet you! I'm sorry I do not know a word in German, hope it's fine for you. If you are interested in participating in the Scientia project, please tell me. I've see you just started correcting Mach articles, and that's awesome. Refer to me for anything. --Aubrey McFato 12:08, 19 nov 2011 (CET)[rispondi]

I'm interested in sciences especially physics, and this is a multilingual paper. I hope I can assist a little bit in the german part (maybe english). If there is something wrong simply correct it or tell me. because I don't know all your templates, so something may go wrong --Joergens.mi (disc.) 12:12, 19 nov 2011 (CET)[rispondi]

Dear Jorgens, your work is amazingly helpful, you don't know how much I was worried at the idea of fixing all the index pages... and you did 3 of them in one day! Maybe you're using a technique I don't know. Anyway, tomorrow at work I'll try to upload other files, and we can work on these in the next days. All the things you're doing are fine, so don't worry and ask me for anything (if you prefer to reply in your talk page, please tell me something, I don't wanna miss your answers or questions.) If you are willing to corect or proofread some articles, i just want to show your two important template:

which basically are wikilinks for authors and texts in wikisource. We used a lot the first one, but not in all the names we see in the articles/books: just in the ones whose autohers we think we will have some texts. In Scientia, it would be nice to have the wikilink of an author whose we have an article. Here is an example. I hope I made myself clear, ask me anything. Thank you again for your wonderful contributions! --Aubrey McFato 13:17, 20 nov 2011 (CET)[rispondi]

The indexpages are work but simple. I made a copy template for me and loaded the djvu to my lokal computer. After that I simply walk through the djvu and wrote the headlines.

Template

|-
{{Indice pagine|1}}
<pagelist from= to= = />
|-
{{Indice pagine|2}}
<pagelist from= to= = />
|-
{{Indice pagine|3}}
<pagelist from= to= = />
|-
{{Indice pagine|4}}
<pagelist from= to= = />

I didn't set links to authors, because I don't know who to do that, i'll give it a try with the next pages.

Your idea of uploading additional files sounds good, especially volume 2 to 6.

In the german wikisource I started 2 big projects:

Missing scans[modifica]

I know: ABBYY Finereader + DjvuOCR had problems in inserting the OCR layer in Djvu, for all the first pages of the articles. i think this is due to the language switch (swithcing automatically to en or fr or de or it must be not easy for Finereader). this is why they are blank. But does the OCR bot work? It's months I don't use it. --Aubrey McFato 09:28, 21 nov 2011 (CET)[rispondi]

I tried it, but it didn't work. --Joergens.mi (disc.) 12:38, 21 nov 2011 (CET)[rispondi]

I asked Phe (from the toolserver) about it, and he did confirm me that the tesseract engine is not working anymore. Well, I think it would be *awesome* if we as wikimedians (and I'm board member of Wikimedia Italy too) could study how to buy and use a ABBYY OCR engine on toolserver... There seem to be some issues regarding the server (apparently, ABBYY works on windows only) but it would be a very interesting project... Aubrey McFato 08:54, 24 nov 2011 (CET)[rispondi]

Pictures[modifica]

We crop the pic from the page (but remember you can do from here: http://amshistorica.cib.unibo.it/archivio/000007/000008/000045.jpg), upload it on Commons and then put in the page as an image. If you do, please use the category Scientia on Commons, I still need to create some category for the images there... Aubrey McFato 08:54, 24 nov 2011 (CET)[rispondi]

Update[modifica]

Hi Jorgens, always happy to see you here. I just want to tell you that Alx is helping me with conversion of djvu (I had some problems with my ABBYY FR) and so he's doing OCR, converting and uploading in Commons. Right now, we have a new issue. Moreover, VIGNERON from fr.source uploaded the Vol.X on en.source ([1]), so we can transclude. I would like you to read what I'm discussing with VIGNERON, here, because more minds are better than one (moreover, when the one is mine). --Aubrey McFato 10:22, 6 dic 2011 (CET)[rispondi]
