Da vb. aat. * strûhhalon, mat. strûchelen slrûcheln inciampare, cadere o quasi cadere, pel piede che ha urtato in alcunchè, donde tm. straucheln inciampare, bt. strûckeln strükeln, Brem. Wört. 4, 1071, Schambach Wört. der niederd. Mundart. 215: ol. struyckelen strukelen d’ug. sig.; Kiliaen 649. Pel Kluge si riannettono qui probabilmente anche svizz. stürkle störkle d’ug. sig. Vb. aat. * strühhalon è forma intensiva di aat. strûhhôn strûhhên urtare incespicare, cadere, donde anche bav. strauchen inciampare.
